Solve Cactus Pests

The presence of these enemies, obviously must be fought for optimum growth of cactus. Cactus cultivation actually is simpler than many people imagined. Mite

Control: Mites can be controlled mechanically or chemically. Mechanically, cactus pads wear cotton bud sticks or toothbrushes that have been dipped in soap solution (consisting of one tablespoon of detergent or soap dissolved dab with 5 liters of water). While the chemical, mites are controlled by spraying with a dose of EC 570 Ommittee 1-2 grams / liter of water. If the attack was too severe, should be part of the infected cactus discarded.
The White Lice (Mealy bugs)
Symptoms: Cactus disguised to look dirty because such membranes, such as cotton black.
Control: Brush affected parts with a toothbrush or a brush. If you want to handle chemical, spray Basudin with a dose of 2 ml / liter of water, once every 10 days until the lice attack missing.
Lice Shell

Control: The mechanical scales lice can be controlled by cleaning the surface of a cactus tree bark using a soft brush or paintbrush. Chemical control, spray with a dose of Decis 2.5 EC based on the package.
Wool Ticks
Symptoms: The affected become weak, because the liquid is absorbed by the plant louse. Eventually, the stem sections to wither and fall.
Control: Same as flea control scales.
Worms
Symptoms: Part of being attacked by the worm is the root of a cactus. As a result the roots become damaged and unable to function. Eventually the plant will die.
Control: Before planting, the roots of a cactus should be sterilized first with 70% alcohol. Or it could be by mixing Furadan in growing media.
Snail or conch
Symptoms: Shoot-shoot of the cactus to be corrupted and irregular shape. Sometimes the attacks continued, the cactus can be decomposed.
Control: Capture snail / slug and then thrown away or burned. Then do the cleaning of the environment around the cactus.
Ant
Symptoms: Roots and young shoots damaged by ants typically live in soil or under the roots of cactus.
Control: Remove old cactus ants with drying in the sun. Then do the cleaning of the environment around the cactus.
Cockroaches land
Symptoms: There is damage to part of cactus roots so that the result of a cactus that looks stunted growth and even to death. Cockroaches usually “stuck” in the manure.
Control: Replace the planting medium cactus with a material that has been sterilized in advance.
House mouse
Symptoms: These pests are fond of eating the fruit of a ripe cactus cactus stems or undermine (the faction that is not barbed like Gymnocalycium).
